Dental Care Through Different Stages of Life
Dental needs change throughout life. Our goal is to provide appropriate care for the person in front of us rather than taking the same approach with every member of the family.
Children
Early dental visits help children become comfortable with the dental office while allowing us to monitor developing teeth and oral health. Depending on age and individual needs, visits may include an examination, cleaning, fluoride, X-rays when appropriate, and evaluation for sealants.
Many children can receive their routine dental care at Lakeside Dental. When a child has treatment needs that would be better managed by a pediatric dentist or another specialist, we’ll discuss that with you and help coordinate the appropriate care.
Teens
As children grow, we continue to focus on prevention while monitoring tooth development, gum health, cavity risk, bite and alignment, and changes in home-care habits. For some patients, this is also a time to discuss Invisalign, wisdom teeth, or other developing dental needs.
When treatment would benefit from specialized care—such as more complex orthodontic treatment, certain wisdom tooth extractions, or other needs—we’ll help determine the right next step, whether that care is provided here or with an appropriate specialist.
Adults and Older Adults
Adult care can range from routine preventive visits to restorative, periodontal, implant, cosmetic, or other treatment. As patients age, existing restorations, tooth wear, medications, health conditions, and missing teeth may create different needs. We work with each patient to determine which options make sense for their circumstances and goals.
